Hello and welcome to afallen.com, the personal website of Abigail F. Allen. She prefers to go by the name Gaby.
Gaby is an American woman who graduated from Cedar Crest College in May 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems with minors in Mathematics and Film Studies. Her dream is to work in the media/entertainment industry using the technical knowledge she gained in her computers degree and through her video production courses. To date, she has completed two internships with television production companies: Lou Reda Productions in Easton, Pennsylvania (credited projects include a Production Assistant for '70s Fever and a Footage Logger for WWII in HD, both for the History Channel) and Pangolin Pictures in New York City (credited projects include an Intern for Caddyshack: The Inside Story for the Biography Channel and most likely the same credit for the upcoming JAWS: The Inside Story, also for the Biography Channel). These internships combined with some other short term projects (which include leveraging social media to promote a web series, rotoscoping in After Effects for a short film, and producing numerous videos either for school or just for fun) will confirm her commitment to the industry.
This dream of Gaby's has been temporarily put on hold while she is living in New Zealand on a working holiday visa where she is volunteering as an administrative assistant. Feel free to read about her travels at her WordPress blog and as a recent post suggests, she returns to the States in late June 2010 to get back on track with her career goals. Gaby has a particular interest in web design and programming, which was the main motivation for creating this site. Other than her work on this site, you can view her complete redesign of the YWCA of Bethlehem website. She is very energized by the vast potential the Internet holds for businesses in the 21st century, specifically within the media/entertainment industry, but is keen to be a part of the industry in any way she can.
Currently, this server is primarily used to host old projects from college either from programming courses or video production courses. This is still a work in progress as she locates the projects from years past. This server also hosts many photos she has taken, many of which appear on the blog. Below are links to particular courses Gaby has taken. Upon clicking on a link, you will find a description of when Gaby took the course, a link to download the syllabus, and finally links to finished assignments with descriptions. The links might be a .zip download (this will be the case with C++ projects) or you might be able to view the project on the Internet. The descriptions might be official descriptions that the professor had given when giving out the assignment or it just might be a description Gaby wrote on her own if she can't recall exactly what was assigned. She no longer has access to that sort of information unless she copied it at some point.
